Fishing the past month has been great. King salmon showed up in good numbers the last week of July and have been around since. They have been moving around as far as depth depending on water temperature. We have been able to stay on top of them using our FishHawk to find cold water. At this point fish are in 115-120, 130-150, and 170-180. Riggers have been producing with white/slick spin doctors with Pickled Ken flies. We have been running a big white paddle with either Poofster or Oceana on the chute. Wire divers have been awesome paired with meat rigs. Moo Moo, Thruster Buster, Pole Dancer, and Kevins Girlfriend have all been good. Our Blood Run coppers have been on fire this past week. 200-450 coppers are all producing. I've been running Silver Horde Ace High plugs on the 200 length coppers. We have been running meat on the deeper coppers. Lakeshore Tackle and Firearms has a great selection of plugs and meat rigs. He is ordering more this week.

Fishing has been picking up the past two weeks. The NW blows brought silver fish in shallow in early July. We were able to capitalize and had so great mixed bag catches of steelhead, kings and browns. 2/3/5 colors and 30/50 ft lengths of 32 lb Blood Run copper were doing most of the damage. Silver Streak Mini Streaks and J plugs were both taking good numbers of fish. Thereafter SW winds and warm weather have brought warming water. Salmon, lake trout and steelhead have moved into the 90-120 ft depths. Here, wire divers and 45 lb Blood Run coppers are rocking. Big Weenie meat rigs in Kevins Girlfriend, Kevorkian, and Spotted Dick are all taking fish. Lakeshore Outfitters is getting stocked on meat rigs and Familiar Bite meat as well. 8" Spin Doctors and Pickled Ken flies are also starting to take off. If weather holds good fishing for silvers should continue into August.
Fishing was tough this past week with the NW and East winds. Fortunately, strong south winds have warmed the inshore waters and pushed fish into the Holland/Saugatuck area. On 6/9 we found a pocket of cold water in 90-110ft right in front of Holland. We pulled a few kings and steelhead from this. We then made a move west and hit fish from 135-180. Riggers with Meat rigs, 11" white paddles and spoons have taken fish but are certainly the least productive rods on the boat. Kevin's Girlfriend, Mtn Dew, Blue Balls and Kevorkian Meat rigs remain hot on a high divers back 130-150. Wire out-fished braid yesterday. 200ft of Blood Run copper paired with a Silver Streak UV Mag Blue Dolphin rocked. 3/5/7 colors of core all took fish with a Streak Mini Mixed Veggies, Super Slim Magic Man, and Stinger coyote. We ended 16/22 with a mix of kings, steelhead, lake trout and coho. Boats I talked with did very well in the evening as well with some very nice kings being caught.
Fishing remains good off the ports of Holland and Saugatuck. The kings are showing up finally in decent numbers in 80-100 FOW. We have been taking 6-12 kings per trip and finishing off the catch with good sized lake trout. Blood Run Coppers with Silver Streak Lemonberry, Lemon Ice, and Chartreuse NBK have been good. Fuzzy Mod Blue Dolphin has been good on both coppers and riggers. Bigger kings have come on wire divers back 100-120 with green Big Weenie Meat rigs.
